THE FOUNDER

Russ Hartenstine has been a fixture in the property management and construction world of Martha's Vineyard for nearly 30 years.  His construction experience goes back to 1995, when he began work on a pulley-driven sawmill for a family post and beam business in Vermont. In 1998, he moved to Martha’s Vineyard to be an apprentice as a cabinetmaker. After two years, he met his next boss, and mentor, John Early.  John ran a large construction company with almost 30 skilled carpenters - many of whom Russ considers his teachers. In 2003, Russ began to caretake a large estate at the request of a longstanding client. Since then, he has committed himself to the
system of building and maintaining homes.  He is a proud father of two incredible children.

OFFICE MANAGER
Melissa Randall

Melissa is a Massachusetts native, moving to Martha’s Vineyard in 2002. With over 20 years experience in flooring, bathroom/kitchen design and installation, Melissa enjoys bringing project and renovation visions to life, while managing the office and bookkeeping at PPM.  Melissa’s newest job is as a grandmother, which she finds incredibly rewarding, and has a great love for animals, having three dogs of her own.

PROPERTY MANAGER
Petra Lent McCarron

Petra has spent most of her career working for a film production company and a non-profit focused on children's human rights. Property management actually calls on many of the same skills as film production and editing - close observation, a head for details and getting crew where they need to be to do their work.

PROPERTY MANAGER/INSPECTOR
Lana Ben David

Born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard, Lana brings a unique combination of island roots, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of property management. During her career at Duke University she spent several years building and tending to her small farm in North Carolina where she developed a profound appreciation for maintaining both structure and nature.

Lana's journey then led her back to Martha’s Vineyard, where she reconnected with her island ties. She joined the island's only behavioral health outpatient treatment center, where she refined her skills in managing complex situations and working closely with people with diverse needs. This experience, coupled with her practical expertise, naturally steered her back into the property management field.

With her knowledge of maintaining island homes and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of both tenants and property owners, Lana has become an invaluable asset to Pyramid Property Management during her time with our company. Her ability to merge her passion for property care with a compassionate approach to community well-being makes her a trusted professional in the island’s property management industry.
